LCD Displays, TV Interfaces, and LEDs are good interfaces to your HCS-II, but to make your HCS-II seem like part of your home, it needs a VOICE. However, many voice synthesizers either use pre-recorded messages or phoneme commands to build words. Not the HCS-Voice. It is a true text to speech synthesizer. Using a simple XPRESS command called SAY, you can have your HCS-II say just about anything. Want to know when someone enters your house, SAY "The front door has been opened" will do the trick.

HCS-II Voice Board

However, the HCS-Voice doesn’t just do simple text to speech conversions. It gives the user powerful commands to customize the speech to their liking. Settings such as intonation, frequency response, speed, pitch, volume, tone, etc., can be easily manipulated. You can also switch it to phoneme mode and build difficult words to improve how they sound.

Adding to this flexibility, the HCS-Voice synthesizer board allows you to compile and upload exception dictionaries using your PC. Not only can you easily correct words that don’t convert quite right, you can even implement limited foreign language capabilities. You can even give your voice board an ‘accent’ which can pronounce english words differently based on the region or country you live in.
