The HCS-II Supervisory Controller comes with 8 TTL digital outputs and 16 TTL digital inputs. However, most real-world applications require inputs or outputs that are not 5VDC. The HCS-II Relay-Buffer Temrinator Board (RBUF-Term) adds buffered interfaces for controlling a wide variety of devices from your HCS-II.
The RBUF-Term board converts the 8 TTL digital outputs from the SC to 8 relay outputs capable of switching 5 Amps @ 240VAC. Connections are made via easy to use screw terminals. Status LEDs show the current state of each relay. The 16 TTL digital inputs are converted to buffered inputs capable of handling ±30VDC. Each input also has a 10K pull-up which can be enabled if necessary making it very easy to interface to closure contacts. Each input and output has an LED indicator making system debugging and status checking a snap.
The RBUF-Term board connects to the HCS-II via a simple ribbon cable which is included. The RBUF-Term has an intergated voltage regulator which converts 9-18V to a 5VDC regulated supply. This power can be fed into the HCS-II so you don’t have to power the HCS-II board separately.
The RBUF-Term circuit board is made from extra thick material which provides extra support when tightening wires into the screw terminals. This helps avoid unecessary flexing of the board.
