The HCS-DTMF daughterboard gives your HCS-II control of the phone line and allows you to actually call your HCS-II and issue commands via touch-tones to control your home. XPRESS provides you complete control of the phone line. Commands such as ONHOOK, OFFHOOK, DTMFDIGIT, DIALSTR, and CALLPROGRESS allow your programs to use the phone line in many ways. The HCS-II DTMF supports DTMF send a receive in single and multiple digits.
The HCS-DTMF board also has audio input and output jacks allowing you to send and receive audio over the phone line while under HCS-II control. Combine an HCS-DTMF with the HCS-Voice and you have a complete Voice Response System. See Example #5 in the XPRESS Examples Document to see how to implement a menu based response system with your HCS-II.
